Küster S-rolls are used in hundreds of existing Küster textile padders / foulards for water extraction. Regular repair and refurbishment is absolutely vital for continued problem-free running. S-Roll Principle
A steel tube rotates around the fixed axle. The circular gap is separated by two seals in two semi-circular chambers. The chamber facing the nip is hydraulically pressurised by oil. An oil pressure is generated that counters the deflection forces of the cylinders. The S-Roll is able to adapt perfectly against the counter-roll, ensuring an even line force. No friction is created in the nip, as both rolls are completely cylindrical. The line force can be adjusted in various ways to suit the fabric.
Refurbishment
It is vital for the correct function of the S-Roll that the seals, bearings, springs and other replaceable parts are checked and replaced regularly. This work is normally carried out at the same time as the recovering of the roll. RHL also offers elastomer recovers of the highest quality and to the original Küster specifications.
