White Cotton Paper (Bleached)
100% bleached cotton based roll cover material suitable for high speed, high line pressure supercalendering.
Typical Uses
- Magazine/SC paper
- Coated paper
- LWC paper
Key Features
- Suitable for high production volume supercalendering applications
- Narrow, accurate nip profile and surface smoothness enhance paper quality
- Improved temperature tolerance over other standard materials
White Cotton Paper is produced from 100% cotton linter fibres bleached into a pure clean form. The bleaching and refining process is designed to retain maximum resilience in the cotton fibres. Its supercalendering performance is very similar to that of Blue Denim filling material. White Cotton Paper is suitable for relatively high production volume supercalendering applications. Its accurate nip profile and surface smoothness characteristics enhance final paper quality.
Regrinding is required at regular intervals to maintain a surface free from marking and high density spots. Resistance to heat is improved over unbleached white cotton and certain cotton/wool combinations due to a narrower nip width, allowing running at higher line pressures and speeds. White Cotton Paper is traditionally a very popular filling material in Southern Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
The performance of White Cotton Paper rolls can be improved through RHL’s unique Roll Conditioning service. This extra service is designed to enable the rolls to withstand more extreme running conditions with resulting improved life and performance.
