SP Cotton
Bleached raw cotton fibre based cover material. Performs well both in normal supercalendering and matt / sem-matt calendering.
Typical Uses
- Magazine/SC grade
- Matt calendering
Key Features
- Nip profile and surface smoothness produce excellent and consistent paper quality
- Relatively resistant to temperature
- Performs well in both supercalendering applications and matt / semi-matt calendering
SP Cotton is made from 100% bleached cotton comber (natural cotton fibres). Its supercalendering properties are very similar to denim grades. However SP Cotton rolls have slightly higher resilience than Blue Denim Paper rolls since the natural fibres used in the material’s production retain their natural length. Reginding is required at regular intervals to maintain a roll surface free from marking and high density spots. Temperature tolerance is higher than with raw cotton fibre or certain cotton / wool combinations due to the narrower nip width. SP Cotton is ideally suited to matt / semi-matt calendering due to the profile accuracy which it provides.
