HHR (Hough Heat Resistant)
HHR is a 100% linen based cover material designed for higher temperature supercalendering applications.
Typical Uses
- Label release paper
- Glassine
- SC paper
Key Features
- Withstands higher temperature/pressure supercalendering conditions
- Excellent nip profile
- Replacement for traditional asbestos and composite materials in glassine / release paper applications
HHR is a linen based cover material, designed to perform in higher temperature and more demanding supercalendering conditions. HHR is also a replacement for traditional asbestos and other composite roll cover materials.
Linen fibres naturally have a higher resistance to temperature than cotton. The improved temperature resistance characteristics of HHR are achieved through a combination of factors including the linen fibre content, increased cover density and reduced moisture.
Extremely uniform cover density and optimum surface hardness ensure a positive contribution to paper quality. HHR rolls are easily machined to a high quality surface finish.
